M.S. Student in Computer Science · University of Southern California

I am a Master's student in Computer Science at the University of Southern California, where I work with Prof. Jesse Thomason on benchmarking vision-language model agents in interactive game environments. Before USC, I received my B.Eng. in Software Engineering from Heilongjiang University, where I worked on multi-interest recommendation and learned indexes for high-dimensional similarity search.

My research interests include large language models (LLMs) and vision-language models (VLMs); multimodal agents grounded in interactive environments; evaluation and benchmarking of foundation models; and efficient representation learning and retrieval (learned indexes, high-dimensional similarity search) for large-scale models.

Research Experience

Benchmarking Vision-Language Model Agents in Game Environments
University of Southern California · PI: Prof. Jesse Thomason
2025 – Present
  • Co-developing a benchmark that evaluates how well VLM-based agents ground visual perception into decisions and actions in complex, interactive video-game environments.
  • Deployed the benchmark across multiple games using the PyBoy Game Boy emulator, enabling multimodal agents to be evaluated in diverse interactive environments.
  • Collaborating with Ph.D. researchers on task design, agent evaluation, and experiments; manuscript under review at ICLR 2027.

Multi-Interest Sequential Recommendation
Heilongjiang University · Undergraduate Thesis Project
2024 – 2025
  • Proposed SCAD, a lightweight model using capsule-network modules to dynamically extract multiple interest representations per user from behavior sequences; code released open-source.
  • Co-developed ACNNS, a unified multi-interest framework integrating neighbor-sequence enhancement with attention-based capsule networks.
  • Thesis recognized as an Outstanding Undergraduate Thesis of Heilongjiang University.

FLEX: Learned Index for High-Dimensional kNN Search
Heilongjiang University
2023 – 2024
  • Developed DNN components that learn correlations in high-dimensional data to group similar objects, reducing the search cost of kNN and range queries.
  • Introduced a multi-module DNN framework plus a linear-time data layout refinement algorithm that bounds candidate size, achieving superior time and space efficiency with high accuracy.
